Switching to a low carb diet is full of its challenges, but sometimes we have to make mistakes in order to do things right. If you're considering the ketogenic diet then you should know it's all about eating fewer carbs and more protein and fat. The good news is once your body goes through ketosis (a period where your body switches from burning carbs to burning fat), you'll not only lose weight, but you'll feel more energetic. Even though it may take some time to get used to eating more fat (after all, most of us are conditioned not to eat a lot of fat), it's what your body will use as its main source of energy when you're on the keto diet. So don't be afraid to eat more fats such as avocado, olive oil, real butter, and almonds.
It may be easy to slip back into old habits and accidentally eat too many carbs, but that's why counting the carbs that you're eating is so important. What else is important is eating a lot of vegetables that are low in carb and will give your body the nutrients it needs.
Even if you make some of these mistakes doesn't mean you should give up on a low carb diet. Keep pushing through and it'll be worth the challenges!
