The Ketogenic Diet involves eating proteins and fats while eating fewer carbs. Ther only carbs that are allowed are vegetables, such as eating leafy green salads. Once a body is deprived of carbs it goes into a state of ketosis. A body's excess fat is converted into ketones in your liver and thus used to fuel your brain. Your body then fuels itself with fat and not sugar and carries with it several benefits for both men and women.

These hormones are vital for female health. Estradiol regulates growth hormone for tissue and reproductive organs, dehydroepiandrosterone is important for reproductive health and memory and acts as an anti-depressant and testosterone helps to strengthen bones and muscles and improves sex drive.
It's nice to know that by eating a high fat diet women can experience higher levels of certain hormones that are important to maintaining a woman's health. Plus, it's great that one the hormones in particular – dehydroepiandrosterone – is vital for reproductive health, memory and also acts as an anti-depressant.
